Boots Hearingcare Aylesbury

After hearing tests I was advised to buy a pair of gold level aids, for £3400. I have no problems in everyday situations, can hear bird song, phones, children in the school playground, a quarter mile away, T.V. etc. I play several musical instruments and can switch keys by ear. The audiologist seemed friendly, but did not suggest that I see about a free N.H.S. device. I paid a deposit, but later cancelled this order and had this returned. This price seems excessive for something that would give me minimal benefit.

The initial examination was thorough and well conducted. I felt very confident in the tests.

The lady who gave me my appointment is called sue.She told me the procedure before we started the and put me at ease straight away. She was very professional throughout and assured me that after 3 months if I wasn't happy with the product I could return it with a full refund and that was the reason I decided to purchase my hearing aids.

The process from testing hearing, informing the results and providing a brilliant solution was excellent.

I am giving 1 star because is the lowest possible. I went for a hearing test and it took 5m and I was out. The lady just said that I have to put a liquid in my ears and come back in 3 weeks a d I was out. I felt that I was not important and she didn't care I don't recommend at all this Boots department!!!!

It was all explained to me in good detail so I could make an informed decision on the type of hearing aid that was good for me.

Having booked and attended my appointment for custom fitted hearing protection,Boots hearing care took my payment and said it would be a 2 week wait for them to be delivered. Almost a month later, still no delivery,and Boots Hearingcare customer support have so far ignored 3 of my emails. When I finally got through to somebody at Boots customer don' tcare on the phone, I'm told there's nothing they can do and that I should phone the hearing protection manufacturers myself! I was seriously considering using Boots hearing care when I purchase hearing aids, but if this is the after service,I think I'll look elsewhere.

I went in last week to have my Phonak Slim hearing aid fitted with the addition of Roger ON. I chose the slim 90 as it had a setting of an in car option. Me being a driving instructor, this was important to me as explained to the second Audiologist however she forgot to update the settings to my hearing aid and/or app. I thought thus was very unprofessional and clumsy! Now I have to wait till the 8th July to have this setting added as there is no availability for the Audiologist to amend the settings. They wanted me initially to go to Leighton Buzzard to be seen sooner but this was not possible as I live in Aylesbury and don't have the time. Why, also should I waste my petrol and time to go elsewhere when not 1 but 2 Audiologists have failed on service!! The only benefit to me now is that the 90 day trial will begin again after the 8th July. This was organised by Ela at customer care.

I arranged an Audiologist appointment on the 1st May with a lady called Su to have my hearing test as I wanted to upgrade to Phonak hearing aids with Roger ON as the hearing aids I had through soecsavers were not working to my needs. The meeting went well and I went ahead and ordered the hearing aid and Roger ON. She said it could take a week but couldn't fit them in till a few weeks later bit would message me if she could fit me in sooner as the trial with specsavers was ending on Monday 13th May and I didn't want to be without hearing aids as I was used to hearing again at least. I was also going to do the payment on interest free payments and the most they did was 20 months so I went along with this. I was just awaiting the email quotation which I received but looked incorrect. I emailed Su but never got a response for 2 or 3 days. I was worried as time was running out. She told me that the Roger ON was discounted already but I never knew this as I didn't know the prices of each product. The invoice was not very clear. There were emails going back and forth but the responses were slow and I was getting worried. The last email I sent was to cancel as I would source these elsewhere but even then she never responded back to me except an abrupt email stating that the hearing aid and Roger ON has been cancelled. I asked her why her responses were slow. She knew the urgency of the order but it was being dealt with in a slow manner. Even when I went back to her to say the only reason I cancelled was I was being ignored and would like to reinstate the order. She said that she cannot deal with me as the damage was done! What?? She's supposed to be professional and representing Boots Hearing care abd this is how she responds. I sent back an email to request the hearing aid report so I could go to another Boots Hearing Care specialist or whether there was another Audiologist working at the same store. She replied back eventually to say there was but she would not be free before the 8th of June! When I went into the store to book the appointment she was called over by somebody else as there was difficulty booking the appointment but not once did she pull me to one side and apologise for the poor service!! I'm appalled by this and will be taking this up with her line Manager. I have an appointment fir the 10th June and I trust that I won't be delayed in getting what I ordered!!

The member of staff was great, put me at my ease, explained the whole prossess with no jargon, the testing was easy to understand. After the testing the diagnosis was again explained with little or no jargon, finally the choosing of the correct aids was explained and I did not feel pressured into buying something that I did not require which the whole experience great

Hearing assessment I did not really know what to expect, but the audiologist explained each step clearly and professionally. I was put at ease. It was clear that both the trainee and the trainer very knowledgeable. The trainer in particular was able to drawer on her long experience to enhance questions or concerns.

Arranged an appointment in Aylesbury, turned up 10mins early, was asked to take a seat and wait. 20mins later it was clear I’d been forgotten, so left the premises whilst the staff just ignored me. Won’t be going back to Boots for a hearing test…

Highly professional

The complete experience was 5 star from beginning to end, with clear explanations for all tests and the results, also for the hearing aids available, costs and fitting. Altogether a very, very good experience, for someone who was so apprehensive.

James was excellent. He was thorough, put you at ease, inspired confidence, and had good knowledge. He was friendly and personable. I thoroughly recommend him.

Everything was explained very carefully and care taken to make sure that I understood all the options. I would recommend Kelly to anyone who has any doubts .Thankyou for your help

The lady doing the test was professional and clearly very competent. I felt reassured I was getting good advice. The setting up of the device and the aftercare were the two areas that swung my buying from Boots. I could have purchased the same hearing aid from SpecSavers for £300 less but felt their after sales was probably not going to be as good.

Great Professional service!

My wife has had two Phonak aids for several years and they have made quite a difference. I did not think I needed a hearing aid but was persuaded to take the initial test which revealed some hearing loss. Appointment made with James for a full hearing test which identified an additional disparity between hearing in each ear requiring a referral for further investigation. I will go ahead with trying hearing aids.

Full explanation of the causes of my hearing loss and an explanation of why the hearing aids recommended were the right prescription for me.

James was extremely helpful and courteous to my mum. The hearing test was efficient and we both learnt a lot about the issues she is facing with her reduced ability to hear. My mum was pleased with the difference the hearing aids made and we are looking forward to picking her pair up soon.

Excellent staff

The member of staff who carried out the hearing tests was helpful and extremely knowledgeable and explained the results clearly and concisely. The diagnosis and advice provided was comprehensive and easily understandable. The pros and cons of different types of hearing aid were clearly explained and it was easy to make an informed choice.

Fantastic experience at Boots Hearing are in Aylesbury. Maya is an absolute miracle worker! Highly recommended!
