Recruitment Privacy Policy

1. Our Promise to you
Boots Hearingcare is committed to protecting your privacy. We will always keep your personal information safe and will never sell it to third parties.  We’ll be clear and open with you about why we collect your personal information and how we use it. Where you have choices, we’ll explain them to you and respect your wishes.
 
2. Who is in control of your information?
Throughout this Privacy Policy, ‘we’ or ‘Boots Hearingcare’ means Boots Hearingcare Ltd. Which for the purposes of Data Protection legislation, is a ‘Data Controller’. 3. What do we collect?
The personal information entered by you into our careers website or submitted though the attachments you upload (“Personal information”) are stored and used by Boots Hearingcare for the purpose of recruitment. Your information may also be stored for the purpose of recruitment if you email recruitment@bootshearingcare.co.uk with an enquiry relating to a prospective vacancy or recruitment drives we operate throughout the year (e.g. Graduate, Foundation Degree or Hearing Health Practitioner recruitment) or attach your information for the purpose of employment (e.g. a CV or similar document).    
 
4. Use of Personal information
We may use the personal information for the purpose of employment consideration and may from time to time contact you with opportunities or news about our business, recruitment drives or our attendance at industry events which we believe to be relevant. We may use the information to carry out checks with external sources such as the HCPC (Health Care Professionals Council), DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service to verify your identity and assess your suitability for certain roles (e.g. Hearing Aid Audiologists, Hearing Health Practitioners, Contact Centre Operative).
 
If you apply for a job with Boots Hearingcare, some of the information we ask you to provide may be sensitive in nature, such as information about your health. We will only ask for sensitive information where we have a specific need for it and we will always tell you why we need it.  Examples include reasonable adjustments for interviews and assessments, diversity and inclusions information including equal opportunities. We will not use your data in any other way or share it with unauthorized third parties. 
 
If your job application is successful, the information you give during the application process will form part of your employee record and will be used to administer your employment and manage your career at Boots Hearingcare.
 
If your job application is unsuccessful we will keep your data for up to 12 months. However due to the unique industry we operate in and the limited number of candidates with experience of our industry, we may ask to keep your data for longer than 12 (twelve) months in order to maintain an ongoing relationship with you for the purpose of recruitment and to keep you informed about career opportunities with us over the longer term.
 
5. Review and correction
You can at any time request for your data to be removed or for details of the data we hold on you by emailing recruitment@bootsheairngcare.co.uk or via the contact us link of our careers website.
 
We will keep your Personal information stored for up to 12 (twelve) months following your last communication with us where you have provided authorisation for us to do so
 
6. Sharing information outside Boots Hearingcare
 
We use a number of agencies to help us recruit. The agencies will share candidate details with us where they believe the candidates are suitable for roles and have agreement from the candidate.  (we will make sure that agencies always share their privacy policy before sharing candidate’s details with us).
 
We may share your Personal Information with third parties where required or permitted by law, if we believe we need to do so to protect our rights, or to comply with legal proceedings. In such cases we will always do so legally and with due regard to your privacy. 
 
In the case of highly qualified professional candidates including Audiologists and Senior Managers, we may from time to time share your information with Sonova PLC or Walgreens Boots Alliance PLC both inside and outside of the United Kingdom for the purpose of recruitment. 
 
If ownership of all or part of our business changes or we undergo a reorganization (including merger or transfer between Sonova or Wallgreen Boots Alliance Companies, we will transfer your personal information to the new owner or successor company so we can continue to provide our services.
 
7. Exclusion of Liability
Boots Hearingcare does not accept any liability for the availability of the Boots Hearingcare Careers website, the accuracy and correctness of information contained herein or for data loss and the illegal intrusion of third parties. Except where mandatory liability applies for intent, gross negligence, loss of life, bodily harm or injury to health, Boots Hearingcare’s liability shall be excluded. This policy was updated in May 2020 and we may review it from time to time.  We recommend that you check back here occasionally. If we make any changes we thing may significantly affect you, particularly if they could have impact on your rights under Data Projection Legislation, we will notify you.
 
8. Information We Collect Online: Cookies
A ‘cookie’ is a file in your web browser that enables us to recognise your computer when you visit the Boots Hearingcare careers website and make using the site quicker and easier.  Cookies are also essential to the functioning of certain parts of the site and we use them to collect information about how the site is used. 10. Applicable law and jurisdiction
